Our technologies
Our services by area
Open to technology. State of the art. Always suitable for the use case.
Data Minds Consulting relies on modern, tried-and-tested technologies for the implementation of data & AI projects. We provide vendor-independent advice and work with our clients to select the platform that best suits their existing system landscape, budget and objectives.
Microsoft Fabric
The new integrated data platform from Microsoft combines data integration, lakehouse, data analysis, governance and reporting - ideal for companies that rely on Power BI and want to map their entire data architecture in the Microsoft world.
Microsoft Power BI
The standard solution for self-service BI, interactive dashboards and corporate reporting. We develop visualizations, DAX logic, KPI definitions and provide training for your specialist departments.
Microsoft Azure
With components such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL and Blob Storage, we build high-performance, scalable data platforms that can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems.
Databricks
For complex data volumes, machine learning and streaming processes, we rely on Databricks - a highly scalable unified analytics platform that can be combined with both Microsoft Azure and AWS.
Power Automate, Zapier, n8n
We use automation tools for recurring tasks, data flows and process optimization - especially where interfaces or resources are lacking.
Further tools
Depending on the project, we use additional tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory or OpenAI services - tailored to the respective use case.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about our technologies
What is Microsoft Fabric and who is it suitable for?
Microsoft Fabric is a holistic data platform that combines data engineering, Lakehouse, Power BI and governance. It is particularly suitable for companies that already work with Microsoft 365 or Azure and are looking for an integrated solution.
What is the difference between Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse?
Microsoft Fabric is the successor and further development of Azure Synapse. While Synapse focuses heavily on data warehousing and Spark, Fabric offers a more comprehensive platform with OneLake, Direct Lake for Power BI, a new authoring model and deeper Microsoft 365 integration.
When should I use Databricks instead of Microsoft Fabric?
Databricks is ideal for companies with large, heterogeneous data volumes, a focus on machine learning or multiple cloud providers. Fabric, on the other hand, is better for Microsoft-centric organizations with a focus on BI and self-service reporting.
Is Power BI a suitable solution for small businesses?
Yes - Power BI is particularly well suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as it offers a cost-effective and rapidly deployable solution for data visualization and reporting. Data Minds supports SMEs with training, setup and reporting concepts.
Which tools do you use for ETL processes?
For ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) we rely on:
- Azure Data Factory
- Databricks Notebooks
- SQL-based transformations
- dbt (data build tool)
These tools enable flexible and scalable data pipelines - on-premise or in the cloud.
Can different technologies be combined?
Yes - in many projects we combine Power BI with Databricks, for example, or Microsoft Fabric with external APIs, automation tools and legacy systems. Our architectures are modular and can be flexibly expanded.
